Youth Employment Services

What is the “YES” program about?
SMART Staffing Group, Inc. is a vendor of ACCES-VR, and we work in placing Pre-ETS students in work experiences over the summer months. The program gives youth an opportunity to work up to 80 hours over their summer breaks, helping them gain experience in the field of work they would like to pursue.

Pre-Employment Transition​ Services

What is Pre-ETS?

Our Pre-ETS Program is offered to students who are potentially eligible for ACCES-VR. SMART Pre-ETS offers students exploratory opportunities in their career interests, which will aide in their transition to ACCES-VR. Upon completion, students receive a certificate of achievement.

The Format: Virtual or In Person

  • 15 hour program trainings include:
  • Job exploration counseling
  • Workplace Readiness Training
  • Instruction in Self-Advocacy
  • Work-Based Learning
  • Counseling on Post-Secondary Opportunities
  • Offered in school or virtually after school

Who can Participate?

  • Students with disabilities
  • Ages 14-21 years old
  • Have a IEP or 504 Plan or any disability

A SMART option for employers.

Work Try-Out Program (WTO)

The WTO provides a unique opportunity to assess the fit between the job function and the professional, giving time to evaluate whether the fit is right for your business and culture.
  • ACCES-VR provides reimbursement up to 100% of a new employee's wages, up to 480 hours
  • Employees can be part-time or full-time
  • No obligation to retain the professional

Tax Credit Programs

  • Federal and state tax credits
  • Credits up to $4,500
  • Credit can be banked for up to two years

On-The-Job Training

  • ACCES-VR can reimburse 100% of the employee's wages for an agreed-upon time
  • Commitment of employer to hire and train the individual

Workers With Disabilities

  • State tax credit
  • Credit of up to $2,100 in the second year of employment
  • This credit would be equal to 35% of the first $6,000 in wages that the employer pays to the employee
